Shear Outback encompasses an international tourist attraction and living museum in recognition of the contribution of the shearing profession to Australia's history and culture.

The Hay Historical Society is concerned with the local history of Hay, NSW, and surrounding district, including the villages of Booligal, Booroorban, Carrathool, Gunbar, Maude and Oxley.
