The Central Virginia Burn Camp was established in March of 1994 by the Charlottesville Professional Firefighters Association, providing a fun, safe, and exciting summer camp for young burn survivors.

The Northwest Burn Foundation's Annual Summer Camp for young burn survivors held at Camp Waskowitz each July serves children aged 7 to 18 in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska who have burn-related injuries.
