Founded in 1889, the University of New Mexico now occupies 600 acres along old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque, a city of half a million people. UNM is a Carnegie I Research University, one of 88 in the country and one of two that is also designated a Hispanic-serving institution.

Distance Learning bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees are offered through Century University, including business administration degrees, health care management, technology, food marketing and consulting degrees.
