The UCSB Free Electron Lasers provide tunable, coherent, kilowatt level radiation for scientific research in the far infrared portion of the spectrum (2.5mm to 63 microns - 4 to 160 inverse-cm - 120 gigahertz to 4.75 terahertz). A seperate FEL is under development to generate continuous-wave (CW) radiation at millimeter wavelength.
