GSC Pacific Division, Sidney Subdivision (Pacific Geoscience Centre or PGC) conducts research on earthquake seismology, geodynamics, cordilleran tectonics, marine geoscience, paleo-magnetism and geothermics in the Canadian Cordilleran and adjacent offshore continental margin. The subdivision also hosts the National Earthquake Hazards Program in Western Canada, and Geodynamics Program.

Formed in 1931, the Fire Chiefs' Association of British Columbia was formed to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and educational information relative to the Fire Service of British Columbia.
