Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is a national, independent, not-for-profit organization whose sole mission is to manage the blood supply for Canadians. Created in 1998, it is the successor to the Canadian Red Cross Society - Blood Services and the Canadian Blood Agency (the former funding arm of Canada's blood supply system).

The British Columbia Provincial Blood Coordinating Office develops policy on blood-related issues, implements initiatives to improve the coordination of the blood system, and advises on regulatory standards and supply issues.
