It was in 1986 that the organisation known as Autosure New Zealand was first established. In challenging market conditions, it set a clear mission. Managing Director John Copson's objective was two-fold. Firstly to professionalise the "Point of Sale" consumer finance and insurance industry and secondly, to take the risk out of buying cars and other major consumer goods for New Zealanders.
