The Cork Society for the Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals is a Cork based group dedicated to the care and protection of all animals. The Society also know as the Animals Home was founded in 1870.

Mayfield Renshukan was formed in 1971. Chief instructor Sensei Abe McCarthy Rokudan (6th Dan), is still teaching karate in Mayfield Today. Mayfield Renshukan has Played a major part in being the largest club in the organisation which has approximately 40 clubs in the Republic of Ireland.
