The Curragh is the headquarters of Flat Racing in Ireland, hosting all five Classic Races and up to thirteen other quality racedays. It is owned and managed by the Irish Turf Club, founded in Kildare in the 1760's to encourage the sport of Horse Racing and which continues today as the regulatory body for Racing throughout Ireland.

The Kildare Horse Development Company Ireland was established in 1997 and set up as a cooperative venture by all interested parties in the equine industry in County Kildare, Ireland - Thoroughbred Breeders, Trainers, Sport Horse/Riding Establishments, Racecourses Flat and National Hunt and support institutions e.g. sales, administration, etc. for the horse in Kildare, Ireland's leading ...
