With more than 200, 000 students in nearly 300 degree programs on its 21 campuses, and more than 150, 000 students in adult and continuing education programs, CUNY offers a broad array of educational opportunities to diverse populations throughout New York City's five boroughs. It awards academic degrees from the associate through the doctorate level, and administers certificate programs.
The primary responsibility of The Graduate School and University Center is to offer the doctoral programs of The City University of New York. The Graduate School is in essence a consortium, combining resources from colleges throughout the City University to provide quality doctoral and research programs. In addition, The Graduate School and University Center offers a select number of master's programs and administers the university-wide CUNY B.A./B.S. program.
