The Friends support Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Located on Plum Island in Newburyport, Newbury, Ipswich and Rowley, Massachusetts, the refuge features migrating birds, shorebirds and ducks including the Atlantic piping plover.

This Unitarian Universalist Church, founded in 1736 and housed in a building erected in 1801, continues its vital contribution to the Newburyport community.
