The University of Massachusetts Boston was established in 1964 to provide the opportunity for superior education at moderate cost to the people of greater Boston. It is located on 175-acre campus on Columbia Point pennisula, which it shares with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.
Founded 125 years ago, MassArt is the only publicly supported independent college of art and design in the country. The College grants a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with nineteen concentrations offered by eight academic departments, as well as Master of Fine Arts and Master of Science in Art Education degrees. We also offer certificates for art teachers and graphic designers.
