Pipestone is a progressive community of 4, 600 people in Southwestern Minnesota and the county seat for the 10, 000- population Pipestone County. The economy is largely agricultural, light industrial and service oriented. Pipestone is also a popular tourist destination, with visitors enjoying the Pipestone National Monument, downtown Historic District, and other attractions.
