Putney School is an independent, coeducational boarding and day high school in Putney, Vermont. There is a strong program in the arts, music, land use, academic college preparatory program, sports, and summer program.
As a small community of parents, students and teachers in conscious partnership, The Grammar School (TGS) integrates high expectations for achievement, creativity, self-discipline and social responsibility. We cultivate in each student a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and a desire to contribute constructively to society.
The Putney Central School serves children from kindergarten through 8th grade. Current enrollment is at 246 students, with an average class size of 15. A new wing was added to the school in 1994 to house the library, the art room, the music program, and grades 7 and 8. There are at least two computers in every classroom throughout the entire school, and every classroom has a connection to the Internet.
